  TRIPS IN 2016

We are planning four visits to the UK during 2016.

Royal Horticultural  Society Spring show in Malvern.5th to 8th May

Great Malvern is located in the West Midlands area of England close to the cities of Worcester and Hereford.  The plan is to travel by mini bus from Ophain with an over night stop on route to visit some National Trust properties/gardens.
As well as visiting the flower show we will also visit Hereford Cathedral which is the home of the famous Map of Mundi. We will also visit some other places of interest in the area, depending on the groups interests
.

Norfolk

Norfolk is located in the east of England in the area known as East Anglia. This area is famous for the Norfolk Broards which is a landscape of rivers and lakes.
The plan is to travel by mini bus from Ophain stopping on route to visit Flatford Mill (made famous by the landscape Artist John Constable) and the small seaside town of Southwold, which was the home of the Composer Benjamin Brittan.
Whilst in Norfolk we will visit Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall and the city of  Norwich with its Cathedral (this is where the nurse Edith Cavell is buried) and Castle.
Weather permitting, we will hire a boat for a day and cruise around the rivers and lakes, to get a better view of the nature in this unique part of the UK.

The dates for this visit are flexible, depending on the number of people interested
.

Cambridge

For those of you who are interested I also plan to have a long weekend in Cambridge where we will have a two hour guided walking tour of the City including two of the colleges, before visiting the Fitzwilliam Museum and other places of interest.
Also during the weekend we will visit the small historic market town of Saffron Walden and also Anglesey Abbey
.

The Lake District

In the past we have visited the area known as the Lake District in the northwest of England.  This is an area of lakes and mountains and we normally fly to Manchester and then travel by mini bus from the airport. During our time there we visit various places of interest and travel around the area taking in the beautiful landscapes.

The cost of the trips will be between 650€ and 850€ and will include all travelling expenses,  hotels on a bed and breakfast tariff and entrance fees to places of interest. This price is dependant on the exchange rate and the number of people in each group. However, the cost will be confirmed once I know the number of people interested.

For all trips travel will be either by mini bus from Ophain or plane from Brussels and mini bus once we are in the UK.

Accomodation will be in small country hotels or pubs with dinner bed and breakfast.
These trips can be organized throughout the year outside school holidays as long as there are enough participants, and they are open to everyone not only to Let's Speak Good English members.
However each group would need to be a minimum of eight people.
